DUNKIRK – A 63-year-old Dunkirk man died after his pickup truck was hit by a train on Monday morning.

New York State Police say William Miller’s truck was struck by a CSX train on Temple Road in the Town of Dunkirk between Route 5 and Willow Road.

The force of the collision, troopers say, pushed the truck down the tracks a half mile east of Temple Road. The train was hauling three tankers at the time.

Police say Miller was the only occupant of the vehicle involved in the accident.

As of Monday afternoon, police were still investigating what caused the collision.
