LAKEWOOD – A new store aiming to satisfy your sweet tooth is slated to open at the Chautauqua Mall this week.
Sweets Pastry and Fudge, owned by Jaycee Moore, offers freshly made cream puffs, eclairs, fruit tarts, cheesecake slices, cakes, petit fours, sugar cookies, and scones as well as 52 flavors of fudge.
Moore says she has been baking with her Mom since she was a little girl and is currently working on obtaining her associates degree in Baking and Pastry Arts at Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts.
Her time in school, Moore says, brought her a great deal of knowledge and experience; especially in French inspired techniques and specialty products.
Located in the center of the mall near Kay Jewelers, Sweets Pastry and Fudge will first open to the public at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 14, after the Grand Opening Ceremony featuring a ribbon cutting.
Guests can enjoy free samples of fudge, while supplies last, purchase raffle tickets to win one of five prize baskets, and enter a 50/50 raffle.
All raffles will be held throughout the grand opening weekend with the winners being announced on Monday morning. Also, a special gift will be given to the first twenty-eight customers on grand opening day.
In addition to fresh baked goods and fudge, Sweets Pastry and Fudge will serve regular and specialty flavored coffees.
The bakery will be open Monday through Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and Sunday 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
