GERRY – A 29-year-old man is behind bars following an alleged violent assault overnight in the Town of Gerry.
The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office says Dougas Woodard was arrested and charged with second-degree assault just before 1 a.m.
It is alleged Woodard struck a victim with a sharp object causing serious physical injury.
The victim, deputies say, was taken to UPMC Chautauqua Hospital before being transferred to Hamot Medical Center for treatment of their injuries.
