JAMESTOWN – A Jamestown middle school’s comfort dog will soon be learning new tricks.

Jefferson Middle School students raised $600 through their annual Penny Wars campaign, with funding allocated to train their comfort dog Coco.

The student council then donated another $100, to make the training possible.

Co-Presidents of the Council, 8th graders Nilla Ecklof and Mallory Atwater, say with the events of the past year Coco’s job is more important than ever.

Specifically, they say a lot of kids need some extra help in school to feel better, and with additional training, Coco will be the perfect pooch for the job.

The seventh graders raised the most money during the campaign, $250, and got to throw pies in their favorite staffs’ faces as an added bonus.
