RANDOLPH – New regulations for deer and bear hunters are now in effect in New York.

The State’s Department of Environmental Conservation announced the news Wednesday.

The agency says the rule changes extend hunting hours and dress codes which will improve hunter safety.

The DEC Commissioner explains the changes brings the state in line with common practices of other governments across North America.

The agency first announced the proposed changes in June. A full list of the adopted regulations is posted online at dec.ny.gov/regulations/34113.html#Parts_1_11.
