BEMUS POINT – A 39-year-old man is facing charges after allegedly assaulting a man in Bemus Point last week.

New York State Police allege that Anthony Crouch, while drunk, accused the victim of stealing his phone, knocked him to the ground, and kicked him in the face, causing injury at a trailer park in Bemus Point last Wednesday.

Crouch then allegedly used his knife to stab the victim’s television and threaten to slit his throat. The man was able to escape and call 911 from a neighbor’s residence.

He is charged with first-degree menacing, third-degree assault, two counts of fourth-degree criminal mischief and second-degree harassment.

Troopers say Crouch was placed under arrest, processed at the State Police Barracks in Jamestown, and transported to the Chautauqua County Jail.
