OLEAN – A new eSports gaming room has opened at the SUNY JCC Cattaraugus County campus this fall.
The college unveiled the new addition in a social media post Wednesday.
As part of the renovation, walls were painted, carpeting was laid down and brand new gaming chairs and tables were brought in.
The college launched the club this fall, with future plans to sponsor a collegiate eSports team and establish an eSports academic program as well.
eSports have grew in popularity over the past several years, with tournaments credited with creating a billion-dollar industry nationwide.
