Sherman Man Seriously Hurt Following Weekend Lawn Tractor Crash

MAYVILLE – A 47-year-old Sherman was seriously hurt following a lawn tractor crash in Mayville this weekend. 

The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office says James Eastham was riding his tractor in the area of West Marvin and Valley Streets around 5:45 p.m. when he lost control causing the mower to crash in the roadway. 

Eastham was flown from the scene by MedVac Helicopter to UPMC Hamot for his injuries. 


This incident is still under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office and further information will follow once available. 

The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Mayville fire department, and Chautauqua County EMS.
