MAYVILLE – Chautauqua County’s Public Facilities director is resigning.
Director Brad Bentley announced the news during the County Legislature’s Audit and Control committee meeting on Wednesday.
Bentley says the resignation is at the request of County Executive PJ Wendel.
“It’s just what needs to be done at this time, I’ve agreed to stay on until December 1 to work on transition issues and I am very grateful for the opportunity to serve,” said Bentley. “Everybody should have the opportunity to be in a public service position, it’s rewarding, it’s informative, it’s the world, it makes you a better person, it’s made me a better person.”
Bentley took control of the role in August 2019. As the Director of Public Facilities, he managed county services like road construction crews, winter plow services and the county landfill.
