MAYVILLE – Democratic Councilwoman Regina Brackman is the projected winner in the race for Jamestown City Council Ward III following an absentee vote count.

The Chautauqua County Board of Elections counted the absentee ballots submitted for the race between Brackman and Republican Robert Reedy on Monday.

In the end, Brackman won 14 of the accepted absentee ballots while Reedy won 23. The Democrat held an 11-vote lead on election night, pushing her total with absentees to 173 over Reedy’s 171.

“I plan to continue to support the residents of Ward III in the City of Jamestown, hear their concerns, and see what I can do to address them,” said Brackman.

Brackman, who was joined by Jamestown Mayor Eddie Sundquist, sat beside Jamestown At-Large Councilman Elect Randy Daversa who represented Reedy in his absence.
