WARREN (Erie News Now) – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has imposed a weight limit on the Route 62 bridge over Lenhart Run in Pleasant Township, Warren County.

The new restriction will limit the weight crossing it to 18 tons, except combinations are 25 tons. Vehicles exceeding the posted weight limit are required to use alternate routes including Routes 6, 27 and 36.

The weight restriction comes after a routine inspection uncovered deterioration to the 23-foot, concrete bridge.

The weight restriction will slow further deterioration on the bridge and will preserve safety until it can be repaired or replaced, according to PennDOT. Work on the bridge is expected in 2022.

The bridge was originally built in 1928 and is classified as being in poor condition. An average of 1,000 vehicles use the bridge daily.
