MAYVILLE – A man accused of stealing undergarments from a Chautauqua County home will spend a decade in state prison.

The County’s District Attorney’s Office announced the sentencing of 31-year-old Kevin Pattyson on Tuesday.

Pattyson was arrested last June after New York State Police alleged he broke into a Sinclairville home.

During the break-in, troopers said Pattyson was caught red handed by homeowners inside one of their bedrooms stealing underwear. The man was detained by the residents until police arrived.

Following prosecution, Pattyson was convicted of second-degree burglary with a sexual motivation.

The DA’s office says the conviction is a class C violent felony and is his second violent felony conviction within in ten years.
