FREDONIA – Those fully vaccinated and who have received their booster dose of the COVID-19 vaccine no longer have to wear masks at Chautauqua County’s largest university.
SUNY Fredonia dropped their mask mandate on Friday, however the school’s President strongly recommends masks indoors for those not vaccinated or boosted.
Masking rules continue within the Student Health Center and at the COVID-19 testing site on campus.
Earlier in the week, the statewide mask mandate for students across New York ended. From SUNY JCC to local districts like Jamestown Public Schools rules were relaxed.
New York’s Governor made this decision based several key data trends, including a decline in COVID cases, hospitalizations, and deaths.
