JAMESTOWN – Construction plans for a new Tim Hortons coffee shop development in Jamestown has been officially okayed by the city’s Planning Commission.

The group unanimously voted Tuesday to approve site plans for the project, with construction expected to get underway in July or August.

The proposed expansion will be Jamestown’s sixth Tim Hortons coffee shop, featuring an 880 square foot build-out on Washington Street and bringing in around 25 new jobs.

This new store features a first of its kind design locally, with two drive-thru lanes, one service window, a walk-up window, and will offer outdoor seating on a patio area.

What really sets this location apart from others is the lack of indoor seating, which aims to speed up the drive-thru ordering process.

Following construction, the new location is expected to open in mid-September or early October.
