JAMESTOWN – Jamestown Public Schools recently held a reception to honor this year’s retirees.

Each retiree was individually recognized with a small gift and had the opportunity to tell their favorite JPS memory, and talk about their retirement plans.

“This group represents hundreds of years of combined service to our community and our children,” said JPS Superintendent Dr. Kevin Whitaker.  “One of the most honorable things that a person can do is to serve others, and this group has shown that they were willing to do that very thing for decades.  We will miss their experience, skill, professionalism and relationships for a long time to come.”

This year’s JPS retirees are: Sally Cammarata, Terry Carlson, Richard Carlstrom, Mary Cook, Cynthia DiNapoli, Selina Ellis, Andy Field, Emory Heitman, Jill Hopkins, Sherry Jacobson, Jeffrey Johnson, Joni Landy, Patricia Lindfors, Mary Maisto, Robert Martin, Michael McElrath, Priscilla Menzies, Darlene Morganti, Mary Muntz, Lisa Nelson, Rosanne Ortolano, John Panebianco, Elizabeth Pardue, Angelo Perez, Elisabeth Phelps, Barbi Price, Kay Singer, Loraine Steffens, Barbara Suckow, Marsha Thorpe, Victoria Volpe, Cornelia Wagner and Thomas Wright.

The district wished congratulations to their employees who have given so much of their time and energy to the district over the years. The school wished them a healthy and happy retirement.
