SHERIDAN – Fire investigators have determined where flames first broke out at a northern Chautauqua County business on Monday, however have yet to pinpoint a cause.

Fifteen various fire departments battled flames at 3491 Rt. 20 in  the Town of Sheridan on Monday afternoon.

Due to the vastness of the building, along with construction debris littered throughout the structure, officials tell us it took them several hours to extinguish the fire.

There were several businesses that operated out of the building, including a Pawn Shop and Pet Grooming center. Part of the building also housed an old bowling alley.

At this time investigators determined the blaze started in a car detailing garage in the rear of the structure. At this time no cause of the fire has been identified.
