Missing Six-Year-Old Found Safe

FINDLEY LAKE, NY (WNY News Now) – An hours long search for a missing girl in Chautauqua County has ended, after she was located by first responders.  

Chautauqua County Sheriff Jim Quattrone confirmed the news just before 9:30 p.m. Wednesday. 











The search for the missing six-year-old began around 7:50 p.m. after the child was last seen outside a residence, 10185 Route 430, near Findley Lake in the Town of Mina.

FINDLEY LAKE, NY (WNY News Now) – A search for a missing six-year-old girl is underway in southern Chautauqua County. 

Chautauqua County Sheriff Jim Quattrone tells WNY News Now calls came in to county dispatch around 7:50 p.m. Wednesday reporting the youth missing. 

The child was last seen at a residence, 10185 Route 430, near Findley Lake in the Town of Mina.    

Since then, the Sheriff’s Office, several area fire departments, police K-9 units and New York State Forrest Rangers are responding to assist in the search. 





















The Sheriff’s Office is working to obtain a photo of the girl, however Quattorne says she has brown hair with blue eyes. At the time she went missing, she was wearing purple shorts with a pink shirt with minnie-mouse. 

A large farm sits adjacent to where the child was last seen. The nearby terrain also features several farm fields and wooded areas as well.
