JAMESTOWN, NY (WNY News Now) – Jamestown High School Class of 1970 recently presented the James Prendergast Library with a $3,500 donation.
The money was raised from the class’ 50th Anniversary Reunion dinner, which spawned 130 attendees. Class Reunion Committee members Michael Corey and Julie Dudgeon presented the donation to Library Director Anne Green.
“Thanks to the generous gift from the class of 1970, the library can continue to expand the programs and services we offer to the community” said Green.
She went on to say the donation will allow the library to grow and strengthen their educational programs ahead of the fall programming schedule.
“Summer programs at the library such as Community Days on Wednesdays, Summer Reading in the Parks, and Crafting & Community have welcomed hundreds of people this year” said Green.
Residents are encouraged to visit the library’s website or their Facebook page to stay updated on programs, events, and services.
