Jamestown’s New City-Wide Alert System Is Now Operational

JAMESTOWN, NY (WNY News Now) – A new way to keep those in Jamestown up-to-date with municipal news is up and running.

Installed by Alertmedia out of Austin Texas, this new city-wide alert system was first introduced by Mayor Eddie Sundquist and approved for purchase by city council over the summer.











In the form of text messages, emails and in app notifications, the alerts will cover a variety of topics from public safety, housing-neighborhood updates, governmental closures, utility service alerts, parks and recreation, road closures, city news-events, and significant weather alerts.

Residents can sign up online at jamestownny.gov/alerts or sign up via text by texting ‘Subscribe’ to (716) 333-8617.
