Chautauqua County Executive Outlining 2023 Priorities

MAYVILLE, NY (WNY News Now) – Chautauqua County’s Executive is outlining his priorities for 2023.

Executive PJ Wendel is delivering his State of the County address on Wednesday night.


The speech, which will be made in front of the County Legislature at 6:30 p.m., will highlight last year’s accomplishments while outlining goals for the year ahead.

Following remarks, the lawmaking body will vote to renew the county’s occupancy tax, increasing rates from five to eight percent.

Wendel has expressed the need for an additional three percent increase to the hotel and rental tax, which would help funding environmental efforts to improve the area’s lakes and waterways.
