Inmate Attempts Escape At Cattaraugus County’s Jail

LITTLE VALLEY, NY (WNY News Now) – An inmate at the Cattaraugus County Jail is accused of attempting to escape custody.

On Thursday the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office said Dustin Dashnaw allegedly climbed through a ceiling tile and into a restricted crawl space above his cell.


Within minutes of the escape plot, correction officers noticed Dashnaw was missing and began a search.

After locating Dashnaw in the ceiling, he was brought back to his cell.

No injuries were reported from the escape. Dashnaw was arraigned and remanded back to custody on a first-degree escape charge.
