Jamestown, NY (WNY News Now) -A 33-year-old male, James D. Mawhir, and a 47-year-old female, Jenell L. Long, both from Mayville, NY, are facing multiple drug-related charges following a traffic stop by Jamestown Police Department officers.
The incident occurred shortly after midnight on August 3, 2023 when officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s Violent Crime Unit and Jamestown K9 unit conducted a traffic stop on W 6th St near Lafayette St. The stop was initiated due to an observed traffic infraction.
During the course of the investigation, officers performed a vehicle search and discovered a significant quantity of methamphetamine in the possession of both James D. Mawhir and Jenell L. Long. Both individuals were taken into custody and transported to Jamestown City Jail.
After processing at Jamestown City Jail both James and Jenell were released on appearance tickets.
