Man Arrested by Troopers for DWI, Speeding, and Running Red Light

Clarence, NY (WNY News Now) – A 24-year-old resident of Lancaster, NY, was apprehended by Troopers from SP Clarence on August 12, 2023, on charges of driving while intoxicated, speeding, and failure to stop for a red stoplight.

Troopers arrested Alexander J. Martyniuk, 24, of Lancaster, NY, on August 12, 2023, following a series of violations including driving while intoxicated, speeding, and neglecting to halt at a red stoplight.


The incident occurred on Wherle Drive in the town of Clarence, where Troopers observed Martyniuk driving westward. He was spotted exceeding the speed limit in a marked 40mph zone and subsequently failed to halt at a red stoplight while making a turn onto Gunnville Rd. In response to these infractions, a traffic stop was initiated on Gunnville Rd within Clarence.

After failing a Field Sobriety Tests Martyniuk was taken into custody and subsequently transported to SP Clarence for processing. His blood alcohol concentration (BAC) was recorded at 0.09%.

Martyniuk has been issued traffic tickets, which are scheduled to be addressed at the town of Clarence court on August 24, 2023.
