Buffalo Police Make Arrest in Homicide Case


(WNY News Now) – The Buffalo Police Department announced an arrest in connection with the homicide of 28-year-old Thomas Davis on September 12, 2023, at the 3100 block of Main Street.

Buffalo, NY – The Buffalo Police Department revealed on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, that an arrest has been made in the homicide case on Main Street from the previous week. The incident, which occurred on September 12, 2023, at around 1:50 a.m., prompted Northwest district officers to respond to a shooting call. Tragically, upon arrival, they declared 28-year-old Thomas Davis dead at the scene.

Homicide detectives initiated an investigation, leading to the identification of a suspect. Michael Barnes, a 36-year-old resident of Buffalo, now faces charges of Murder in the Second Degree (a class A-I felony) and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree (a class C felony), as per New York State Penal Law 125.25-1 and 265.03-3, respectively.


The Buffalo Police Department is continuing its inquiry into the incident, and Michael Barnes is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
