(WNY News Now) – In an incident unfolding at Barrett Ave near Superior St, Jamestown a 41-year-old male from Ashville, NY, was arrested on December 11, 2023 at approximately 10:56 am for violating a stay-away order, resulting in a felony charge of Criminal Contempt in the 1st Degree.

Jamestown, N.Y. – Jamestown Police Department’s Violent Crime Unit initiated a routine traffic stop for alleged infractions and discovered Benjamin J. Ernewein in close proximity to a female victim, in violation of an active stay-away order. Ernewein, with previous convictions, was taken into custody without resistance. He now faces a felony charge of Criminal Contempt in the 1st Degree.

Ernewein is being held in Jamestown City Jail pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court.
