(WNY News Now) – Jamestown, NY – The Jamestown Police Department in New York has reported a total of 528 incidents for the week of December 24-30, 2023, marking a 25.8% decrease from the previous seven days.

The top ten calls for service include 34 domestic disputes, 32 check well-being requests, and 20 unwanted person incidents. Notably, disorderly persons accounted for 18 calls, while suspicious situations and persons totaled 17 and 15, respectively. Alarm-related calls and noise complaints each stood at 15 and 14. Motor vehicle accidents numbered 12, with seven drug-related cases and six overdose incidents reported.

Year-to-date offense statistics reveal 2431 cases, with 2342 arrests. The breakdown of offenses includes 1604 against persons, 1161 against property, 522 societal offenses, and 1488 classified under ‘other.’ The figures show a comparative decrease from 2022, aligning closely with the five-year average.
