(WNY News Now) – A 56-year-old Dunkirk resident has been charged with Burglary in the Second Degree, Trespass, and Petit Larceny following an investigation by the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office into a series of vehicle entries and burglaries in the Town of Pomfret and Town of Portland.
Between December 28th and December 30th, multiple vehicle entries and burglaries occurred in the Town of Pomfret and Town of Portland. The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office Investigation Division proactively pursued the case, leading to the identification of Gary A. Lang from Dunkirk, NY, as the primary suspect. On 1/12/24, Lang was charged with Burglary in the Second Degree, Trespass (2 counts), and Petit Larceny. The Sheriff’s Office expresses gratitude to the public for assistance, including providing video surveillance footage, contributing to the successful conclusion of the investigation. Multiple individuals played a crucial role in aiding law enforcement.
