(WNY News Now) – Buffalo, NY – The National Weather Service (NWS) Buffalo NY has issued a Winter Storm Warning from January 12, 10 AM EST, until January 15, 7 AM EST for Chautauqua and Cattaraugus counties, anticipating heavy lake-effect snow and gusts up to 60 mph.

A Winter Storm Warning has been issued by NWS Buffalo NY, projecting heavy lake-effect snow and high winds in Chautauqua and Cattaraugus counties from 10 AM Saturday to 7 AM EST Monday. Anticipated accumulations range from 8 to 17 inches, with winds potentially reaching 60 mph, causing blizzard conditions. Travel is expected to be extremely challenging, with reduced visibility due to blowing snow and the possibility of tree damage from strong winds. Residents are advised to stay updated on rapidly changing road conditions and visibilities if traveling. Snow reports can be submitted through the NWS website or social media channels.
