(WNY News Now) – Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office responds to a disturbance in the Town of Sheridan, resulting in the arrest of a 38-year-old  man on charges including Criminal Mischief and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

On February 25th at approximately 4:27 pm, Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Deputies rushed to a disturbance in the Town of Sheridan following a reported altercation. Upon investigation, it was alleged that Nicholas D. Schrantz, a 38-year-old resident of Dunkirk, had not only damaged another person’s property but also endangered the welfare of two children and physically harmed another individual.

Schrantz was promptly arrested and charged with Criminal Mischief in the Fourth Degree, two counts of Criminal Endangering the Welfare of a Child, and Harassment in the Second Degree. Following his arrest, Schrantz was transported to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office for processing and subsequently to Chautauqua County Jail for CAP proceedings.
