(WNY News Now) – Buffalo, NY – Acting Erie County District Attorney Michael J. Keane announces that a 50-year-old Buffalo man was arraigned Tuesday morning before Buffalo City Court Judge Rebecca Town on one count of Public Lewdness (Class “B” misdemeanor).

It is alleged that on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at approximately 3:00 p.m., Buffalo Police responded to the area of Nottingham Terrace and Meadow Road at Delaware Park after receiving a call about indecent exposure. Police located Chester B. Culverhouse, who allegedly matched the description provided by the caller, a short time later. The defendant was released on an appearance ticket.

Culverhouse is scheduled to return on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at 9:30 a.m. for a pre-trial conference. He was released on his own recognizance as the charge is a non-qualifying offense for bail.

If convicted of the charge, Culverhouse faces a maximum sentence of 90 days in jail.

Acting DA Keane commends the Buffalo Police Department for their work in this investigation.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Monica Benjovsky of the Buffalo City Court Bureau.

As are all persons accused of a crime, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
