(WNY News Now) – Jamestown, NY – The Jamestown Police Department, in collaboration with the Chautauqua County District Attorney’s Office, continues its investigation into the shooting death of Trevon Tripp, which occurred on March 18, 2024, at 839 Prendergast Avenue, Jamestown, NY. Two suspects, both residents of Jamestown, have been taken into custody and charged in connection with the incident.

The investigation into the shooting death of Trevon Tripp, which took place on March 18, 2024, at 839 Prendergast Avenue in Jamestown, NY, is ongoing. The Jamestown Police Department Investigative Section, with support from the Chautauqua County District Attorney’s Office, has been diligently pursuing leads and gathering evidence related to the incident.

Multiple individuals sustained injuries during the course of the incident, prompting a thorough examination by law enforcement officials. Over the course of their investigation, detectives have identified several individuals believed to be involved in the incident. Subsequently, two individuals have been taken into custody and charged in connection with the events of that day.

Juan C. Rivera, a 35-year-old resident of Jamestown, was apprehended on March 19, 2024, and has been charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree. He is currently being held at the Chautauqua County Jail, with bail set at $50,000.00.

On April 25, 2024, detectives arrested William Hernandez, aged 53 and also a resident of Jamestown. He has been charged with Robbery in the First Degree and is awaiting arraignment in Jamestown City Court.

The investigation remains active, with law enforcement officials continuing to pursue additional leads and gather further evidence. The Chautauqua County District Attorney’s Office anticipates presenting additional charges to a grand jury in the future.
