(WNY News Now) – Jamestown, NY – Cornell Cooperative Extension introduces “Growing Your Food,” a series of free classes held at the Audubon Community Nature Center’s Kitchen Garden.
Spring marks the ideal time to embark on a gardening journey, and the “Growing Your Food” series provides invaluable guidance. Led by Master Gardeners, Audubon Volunteers, and 4-H educators, attendees will learn the ins and outs of garden planning, maintenance, and harvesting. Classes run from 5:30-7:00 pm on Thursdays throughout the summer, commencing at the pavilion and transitioning to the Kitchen Garden Space.
The inaugural class, “Starting your Garden,” commenced on May 9th, 2024, offering insights into garden planning essentials. Upcoming sessions include “Composting 101” on June 6th, “Promoting Pollination” on June 27th, “In Season Plant Care” on July 25th, and “Harvesting from the Garden” on August 29th. Both youth and adults are welcome, with no registration fees.
