(WNY News Now) – Jamestown, NY – An alleged altercation turned violent on the evening of May 14th as an 18-year-old resident of Jamestown, NY, allegedly wielded a flare gun, injuring another individual on Newland Ave. / Forest Ave.

On May 14th, 2024, at approximately 8:15 PM, law enforcement responded to reports of an assault in the vicinity of Newland Ave. and Forest Ave. Marquan D. Carper-Cunningham, a resident of Jamestown, NY, purportedly engaged in a heated exchange with another individual, during which he allegedly brandished a flare gun, inflicting injury to the victim’s face.

The incident, witnessed by several bystanders, prompted concerns over the reckless endangerment posed to all involved. Carper-Cunningham fled the scene following the altercation, prompting a subsequent investigation by authorities. A warrant for his arrest was secured, leading to his apprehension by a patrol officer on May 15th, 2024.

Marquan D. Carper-Cunningham was detained at the Jamestown City Jail, Carper-Cunningham faces charges of Assault 2nd and Reckless Endangerment 1st.
