(WNY News Now) – PA – Timothy A. Boyce, 60, faces charges of indecent assault, simple assault, and harassment following an incident at the county’s communications center earlier this year.

Attorney General Michelle Henry has announced charges against Timothy A. Boyce, the former director of Delaware County Emergency Services, in connection with an alleged indecent assault of an employee. The incident, which occurred on January 30 at the county’s communications center, has resulted in Boyce facing three misdemeanor offenses: indecent assault, simple assault, and harassment.

According to the charges, Boyce summoned the employee to his office where he allegedly kissed her without consent. When the employee attempted to leave the office, Boyce reportedly grabbed her buttocks and made a lewd comment. These actions have prompted serious concern from the Attorney General’s office, with Henry stating, “This type of conduct is a threat to the workplace, where people are supposed to feel safe, and my office views these allegations seriously. Title, power, or status do not give anyone the right to harass and assault employees.”

Following the incident, the employee left her position and did not return to work. Subsequently, the case was referred to the Office of Attorney General by the Delaware County District Attorney’s Office. Boyce has been arraigned, with bail set at $50,000 unsecured.

Boyce will be prosecuted by the Office of Attorney General’s Criminal Prosecution Section. However, it’s crucial to note that all charges are accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
