(WNY News Now) – Jamestown, NY – Police discover hazardous living conditions in Southside home, leading to the arrest of three adults for child endangerment.

On June 10, 2024, at approximately 7:30 pm, Jamestown police officers responded to a Southside address for a welfare check on two young children. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the children’s mother, Hope M. Dunn, 23, who allowed them inside. The officers were allegedly confronted with deplorable living conditions, including animal urine and feces throughout the house and an overpowering odor.

The residence was deemed unsuitable for the children, a two-month-old infant and a 19-month-old toddler. Following a thorough investigation, three adults were arrested. Hope M. Dunn and Anthony C. Cooley, 23, both of Jamestown, were taken into custody and transported to the city jail without incident. The third adult, Daniel J. Haney, 22, also of Jamestown, who was already in custody on a separate matter, was additionally charged.

All three individuals face two counts each of Endangering the Welfare of a Child and are currently held pending arraignment at the Jamestown City Court. The children have been placed with a family member for their safety.
