Jamestown police swiftly apprehended a local resident following an alarming threat to blow up the police department.

On June 13, 2024, at approximately 6:00 PM, officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s 2nd Platoon responded to a call about a disorderly person on the South Side of the city. Upon arrival, authorities discovered that 30-year-old Jamestown resident Robert M. Bloom had made several threats to Chautauqua County Dispatchers, stating his intention to blow up the Jamestown Police Department.

Following these alarming statements, officers took Bloom into custody without incident. He was then transported to Jamestown City Jail, where he is being held pending arraignment. Bloom has been formally charged with Making a Terroristic Threat and is expected to appear in Jamestown City Court for his arraignment.
