(WNY News Now) -The National Weather Service in Buffalo, NY, has issued a severe thunderstorm warning from 5:15 PM EDT until 5:45 PM EDT on June 17th. A severe thunderstorm was detected near Arkport, approximately 9 miles southwest of Dansville, moving east at 30 mph.

  • Wind gusts up to 60 mph
  • Quarter-sized hail

  • Canaseraga

  • Birdsall
  • Ossian Center

  • Interstate 390 between exits 4 and 5
  • Interstate 86 between exits 32 and 33

Instructions: For your safety, move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. The storm is producing torrential rainfall, which may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive through flooded roadways.
