Lisa A. Noble, also known as Lisa Prynn, aged 44 and formerly of Williamsville, pleaded guilty to a series of charges before State Supreme Court Justice M. William Boller. Noble, indicted on 11 counts, admitted to her crimes which include:

  • Four counts of Grand Larceny in the Second Degree (Class “C” felonies)
  • Three counts of Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument in the Second Degree (Class “D” felonies)
  • One count of Grand Larceny in the Third Degree (Class “D” felony)
  • Three counts of Falsifying Business Records in the First Degree (Class “E” felonies)

Between April and September 2023, while employed as a business manager for St. Amelia’s Parish in the Town of Tonawanda, Noble embezzled approximately $465,000. She made unauthorized purchases with the church’s debit card, issued fraudulent checks, and stole cash deposits, spending the money on personal luxuries such as concert tickets and travel.

On September 15, 2023, Noble was placed on administrative leave following the discovery of the theft. She was terminated the next week after further investigation by the Diocese of Buffalo Internal Audit Department.

Additionally, Noble admitted to stealing over $500,000 from an audiology practice in the City of Tonawanda, where she worked as an office manager from 2016 to 2021. This crime was unveiled during a Grand Jury presentation, leading to a fugitive warrant and her arrest by U.S. Marshals in Raleigh, North Carolina, in March 2024. Noble was extradited to Western New York and appeared in Erie County Court where the indictment was unsealed.

Acting Erie County District Attorney Michael J. Keane expressed satisfaction with the guilty plea, noting, “This defendant brazenly stole nearly a million dollars from two former employers to fund her extravagant lifestyle then fled the area in an attempt to evade prosecution. Today, I am pleased to announce that she has pleaded guilty to the indictment with a commitment from the judge that she will serve a significant period of incarceration.”

Noble has signed Confessions of Judgment to pay restitution to both victims: $465,424.19 to St. Amelia’s Parish and $890,723.08 to the audiology practice. She faces up to 30 years in prison and will be sentenced on Thursday, July 25, 2024. Noble remains held without bail.

Acting DA Keane commended the Diocese of Buffalo, City of Tonawanda Police Department, and the U.S. Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force for their efforts in these investigations. The case was prosecuted by Chief Gary M. Ertel and Assistant District Attorney Robin J. Deubler of the Special Investigations and Prosecutions (SIP) Bureau.
