HARRISBURG — June 20, 2024 — Attorney General Michelle Henry announced the sentencing of Jacob Torres, 33, of Allentown, to 9 to 24 years in prison for sexually assaulting a minor and disseminating child sexual abuse materials.
Torres was convicted on multiple charges, including Statutory Sexual Assault, Involuntary Deviate Sexual Intercourse, Aggravated Indecent Assault, Corruption of Minors, two counts of Unlawful Contact with a Minor, two counts of Sexual Abuse of Children, and two counts of Criminal Use of a Communication Facility. As part of his sentence, Torres is prohibited from having any contact with minors, the victim, or access to the Internet.
The Child Predator Section of the Office of Attorney General uncovered that Torres had been downloading, viewing, and sharing child sexual abuse materials on his electronic devices.
“This defendant has proven without a doubt that he is a threat to the children in our communities,” said Attorney General Henry. “This sentence ensures that he will no longer have access to vulnerable young people, online or in person. Sexual assault of a minor and sharing child pornography are crimes that my office takes very seriously, and we will continue to protect children and hold predators accountable.”
During the investigation, Torres admitted to having unlawful contact with a minor. He had initiated contact with a 14-year-old girl on the social networking site MeetMe, lying about his age, and subsequently engaged in unlawful sexual acts with her several times after meeting in 2015.
Residents are urged to report child abuse to Pennsylvania ChildLine at 1-800-932-0313.
