A Summer Oasis for Families
JAMESTOWN, NY – June 21, 2024 – The City of Jamestown proudly announces the grand opening of the Jackson-Taylor Park Splash Pad, a delightful new feature designed to offer a refreshing escape for families and children this summer. Open daily from 10 AM to 8 PM, the Splash Pad promises to be a popular spot for cooling off and having fun.
While the Splash Pad is ready for enjoyment, some final touches, including the addition of topsoil and seeding, are still pending. If construction crews are present, the Splash Pad will be temporarily closed to ensure safety. The city appreciates the community’s patience as these final tasks are completed.
Update on Allen Park Splash Pad
Unfortunately, the Allen Park Splash Pad remains closed due to a manufacturing defect in a crucial component. The replacement part is expected within 3-4 weeks. The city apologizes for the delay and any inconvenience caused, thanking residents for their understanding.
Splash Pad Safety & Courteous Guidelines
- Supervision: Always supervise children to ensure their safety.
- Respect for Others: Share the space considerately and follow park rules.
- Cleanliness: Use provided trash bins and take home all personal items.
- Facilities: Restrooms are available onsite.
- Footwear: Children should wear water shoes to prevent slipping and protect their feet.
- Health Precautions: Avoid using the Splash Pad if feeling unwell or with open wounds.
- Hydration: Drink plenty of water, especially on hot days.
- No Running: Remind children not to run to prevent slips and falls.
- Sun Protection: Apply sunscreen regularly to protect from sunburn.
- No Food or Drink: Keep the Splash Pad area clean and safe by using nearby picnic tables and pavilion for meals.
- No Glass Containers: Prevent injuries by avoiding glass containers in the area.
