(WNY News Now) – Jamestown – A routine call about a suspicious situation led Jamestown police to arrest Gualberto Gonzalez Jr. on multiple charges, including weapon possession and drug offenses.

On June 26, 2024, at approximately 9:44 PM, officers from the Jamestown Police Department responded to a call regarding a suspicious situation at a North side address. Upon arrival, Gualberto Gonzalez Jr., a 46-year-old resident of Jamestown, allegedly answered the door with a loaded semi-automatic handgun in his waistband, later confirmed as stolen from Pennsylvania.

Officers, aware of Gonzalez’s status as a convicted felon, immediately secured the weapon. Further investigation revealed Gonzalez was in possession of a second loaded handgun. Additionally, officers discovered quantities of methamphetamine, cocaine, various drug packaging materials, scales, assorted ammunition, a spare handgun magazine, two bottles of pills, and US currency.

Gonzalez was taken into custody and transported to the city jail without incident. He faces multiple charges, including two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd degree (Felony), two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree (Felony), two counts of Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 4th degree (Felony), and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th degree.

Gonzalez is currently held pending his arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, Gonzalez is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
