(WNY News Now) – Lakewood – A Jamestown man faces petit larceny charges following his arrest by Lakewood Busti Police with assistance from Jamestown Police Department.

On July 3, 2024, at approximately 9:30 PM, Ray R. Babyak of 153 Newton Avenue, Jamestown, NY, was taken into custody by the Jamestown Police Department (JPD) on an arrest warrant issued by the Town of Busti Court. Babyak, born on September 15, 2002, is accused of stealing $519.34 worth of miscellaneous merchandise from the Lakewood Walmart on June 15, 2024, at 9:51 PM.

The arrest followed a month-long investigation led by the Lakewood Busti Police, culminating in the issuance of an arrest warrant for petit larceny. Upon his arrest, Babyak was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Busti Court later this month to answer the charges. As are all persons accused of a crime, Babyak is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
