(WNY News Now) – Buffalo, NY – Acting Erie County District Attorney Michael J. Keane announced today that Eric J. Reyes, a Buffalo man was sentenced to 5 years in prison followed by 5 years of post-release supervision.
The male victim suffered multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was able to run to Potomac Avenue where he was picked up in a private vehicle and driven to ECMC. He was treated for multiple injuries to his buttocks and right leg and released from the hospital.
In April 2024, Reyes pleaded guilty to the following charges, including the highest count in the indictment:
- One count of Attempted Murder in the Second Degree (Class “B” violent felony)
- One count of Attempted Assault in the First Degree (Class “C” violent felony)
- One count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree (Class “C” violent felony)
- One count of Assault in the Second Degree (Class “D” violent felony)
Acting DA Keane commends the Buffalo Police Department Gun Violence Unit for their work in this investigation.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Ryan M. Flaherty of the Felony Trials Bureau.
