(WNY News Now) – Jamestown – A Jamestown man faces multiple charges after attempting to conceal fentanyl upon his arrest, further complicating his legal troubles.

On the evening of July 5, 2024, officers from the Jamestown Police Department apprehended Dale R. Linkous, a 26-year-old resident of Jamestown, on the city’s West side. The officers, aware of Linkous’ active arrest paperwork from a prior incident, took him into custody at approximately 8:55 PM and transported him to the city jail.

Upon arrival at the jail at around 9:09 PM, Linkous allegedly attempted to dispose of a plastic bag containing a powdery substance by dropping it onto the floor. The substance was quickly recovered by officers and tested positive for fentanyl. As a result, Linkous now faces additional charges of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree and Felony Tampering with Physical Evidence.

Linkous is currently held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
