(WNY News Now) – Jamestown – On July 17, 2024, at approximately 6:57 PM, officers from the Jamestown Police Department conducted a routine street check at the intersection of Liberty Street and East 8th Street. During the patrol, they observed Latrisha S. McCarty, a 54-year-old resident of Clymer, who was known to have an outstanding warrant.

The warrant for McCarty’s arrest was issued for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance. Upon confirming her identity, officers took McCarty into custody. A subsequent search incident to the arrest led to the discovery of a quantity of methamphetamine on her person. This resulted in an additional charge of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree.

Following the arrest, McCarty was held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
