(WNY News Now) – NY Assembly District 150 – Mike Bobseine, candidate for NY Assembly, is on a mission to connect with voters in Assembly District 150 by walking and biking through its diverse communities. His journey starts in the Cattaraugus Territory of the Seneca Nation and traverses Forestville, Silver Creek, Fredonia, Dunkirk, and other key areas, culminating at the Audubon Community Nature Center.
“I’m walking and biking throughout the Assembly district to meet people, listen to their concerns, and visit the community resources that we need to build on to renew our communities in the 150th district,” says Bobseine.
Along the way, Mike highlights community spaces—public schools, libraries, and community centers—as well as businesses large and small.
“Our schools and libraries in this Assembly District are the core, the center, of our communities. These schools, combined with our libraries, are critical to the kind of community revitalization we can achieve to maintain and grow our villages, towns, and cities.”
Mike intentionally connects with the history and culture of the district, taking the time to bike the Portage Trail and ride the Stow Ferry. “These places are part of our heritage, part of our Assembly District, and part of our future,” he notes.
Mike’s route passes sites of new development, such as the Wells Foods expansion that will bring hundreds of new jobs to Dunkirk; existing businesses and institutions such as Cummins, Jamestown Community College and the State University at Fredonia; valuable agricultural lands and businesses, as well as sites in need of major redevelopment, such as the Jamestown BPU’s District Heating Project.
“There are many essential programs and projects throughout the Assembly District that will require state and federal assistance in order to improve and renew our communities. As a former county legislator, school board president, and city attorney, I understand how important cooperation and collaboration are to obtaining state and federal funding.”
“As your Assembly Member, I’m going to work with the governor, members of the assembly and senate, and our federal officials to help renew our communities and the whole of the 150th District.”
