(WNY News Now) – Sonia S. Mosley, a 37-year-old Jamestown resident, was arrested after resisting arrest and unlawfully entering a stranger’s home.

On July 21, 2024, at approximately 6:04 PM, officers from the 2nd platoon spotted Sonia S. Mosley in the vicinity of Myrtle Street and Newland Avenue. With prior knowledge of Mosley’s outstanding warrants from an outside agency, officers attempted a street check.

Instead of complying, Mosley fled on foot, entering a nearby residence. It was quickly established that the residents did not know Mosley, confirming her unlawful entry. Officers pursued her into the basement of the house.

Upon attempting to arrest Mosley for her outstanding warrants, she resisted aggressively, striking, pushing, and pulling away from the officers. After a brief struggle, officers successfully detained her.

Mosley was transported to the Jamestown city jail and is currently held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. She faces charges of resisting arrest, criminal trespass in the second degree, and criminal mischief in the fourth degree. As are all persons accused of a crime, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
