(WNY News Now) – Jamestown, N.Y. -In a violent encounter on Jamestown’s north side, a local resident faces serious charges after forcing entry into a home and injuring a victim.

Delbert M. Clark, a 57-year-old resident of Jamestown, is facing charges of Assault in the Third Degree and Burglary in the First Degree following an alleged violent incident on August 22, 2024. At approximately 7:48 p.m., officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s 2nd Platoon responded to a report of an assault on the city’s north side.

Upon arrival, officers determined that Clark had forcibly entered a residence, allegedly assaulted the occupant, and then fled the scene. The victim sustained physical injuries and received on-site treatment from EMS personnel.

Clark was apprehended a short time later in the area of East 8th Street and Prendergast Avenue. He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the city jail, where he is being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court.
