(WNY News Now) – Jamestown – A joint narcotics operation in Jamestown culminated in the seizure of over 26 grams of cocaine and drug paraphernalia, resulting in multiple charges against a local resident.

On August 21, 2024, authorities from the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, Dunkirk Police Department, and Jamestown Police Department executed a search warrant at 34 Baker Street, Jamestown, NY, after a targeted investigation into narcotics activity. The operation led to the arrest of Dwight Leeper, 48, who was apprehended shortly before the search at a nearby location.

During the search, investigators recovered 26.35 grams of cocaine along with scales and packaging materials associated with the sale and distribution of narcotics. Leeper faces two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree and one count of Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia in the Second Degree. He was subsequently arraigned in the City of Jamestown Court.

Authorities are urging the public to report any suspicious or narcotics-related activities in their neighborhoods. As are all persons accused of a crime, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
