(WNY News Now) – Jamestown – A routine probation check leads to a felony drug charge for a Jamestown resident.

On August 26, 2024, at approximately 4:25 PM, officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s 2nd Platoon responded to an East Side address to assist Chautauqua County Probation in an ongoing investigation. The collaborative effort resulted in the arrest of Miranda E. Evans, a 36-year-old Jamestown resident, who was found in possession of a quantity of cocaine.

During the probation check, officers discovered the controlled substance, leading to Evans being taken into custody without incident. She was transported to the City Jail, where she now faces a felony charge of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 5th Degree.

Evans is currently held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
